health retreat, day 6

No More Pain Killers. Y E S ! No more pain killers, inshaAllah! My good friend Mar certainly have put the words right! GO BACK TO NATURE, NO MORE PAIN KILLER. InshaAllah. God willing, as we translate it for our Christian friends every time we mention the arabic words in remembrance and praises to Allah. I'm actually nervous to back home. I really want to be able to continue on living a normal life, but implementing some big changes - a healthy life style. Sam, a guy only few months younger than me yet so health concious always mentioned, "It's always about the choice you make. You can induldge, you can always have a treat day! Of course everyone needs a treat day! Just make a concious decision every time you want to eat." That is exactly one thing I like with Newlife. I can eat all I want, and then I can just do a 7-day detox. LOL. No lah, it will be quite expensive to do that... It's great to have such a wonderful, supportive family, especially my...

health retreat, day 5

Image
Oh, today is NO-SOLIDS day. They provide those salads, fruits and potato soup, but they told us to not touch them as much as we could. I hope I'll be fine with that. I haven't been eating a lot since the 2nd day anyway. Just half bowl of salad n a bowl of soup. That was it. I'm not a huge fan of salad anyway, but I do like them, because they're just Gooooood :) Bluffing!!! I mean the no-solids thing. Believe me or not, they did not just serve normal fruits, salads and potato soup... They actually baked a whole-meal bread, and served it with a yummy home-made peanut butter!!! It's incredibly yummy after 4 days of tasteless food! I took one small piece (like a tiger-biscuit size), and another piece, and then I had to ask permission whether I can take another one! Hahaha!!! I've never felt sooo.. irresistable to food! Home-made Peanut Butter: Peanuts, Flaxseed Oil & Honey After the talk, there were some remaining bread, and I took another piece!!! -__-...

health retreat, day 4

Image
This morning I keep wondering: How much waste could my body possibly be storing up until recently! Especially with the fact that the only solids I'm taking now is 100% salads, fruits and vegetable soup. Everything today was good except for one. I over-slept in the afternoon and skipped 1 drink, and I woke up to a very bad gastric pain and wind. I was practically rolling on the bed and couldn't even sit up straight. Auntie Nik, my roommate, ordered a yoghurt for me. I just scooped everything up into my mouth. My tummy felt much better, so I did another detox. More waste came out! I just couldn't imagine what does it look like inside me. All the toxins and wastes. No wonder I had this little red spots on my hands and feet couple of years ago, for a couple of weeks on and off, for few years. They're like tiny blood clots everywhere, under the skin. So I guess I really have to stop taking apple cider vinegar to prevent from gastric attacks. I took another small ...

health retreat, day 3

Image
Today was quite a challenge for me. I woke up feeling about, hmm... shall I say, maybe about 75% of myself compared to yesterday. I think I had a good night sleep, but maybe something went wrong somewhere. I remember half-waking several times during the night finding a position that will allow blood to flow regularly to my hands and feet. I get that nearly every night, you know, the 'semut-semut' feeling... Anyways, my head was also quite dizzy, so I did not join the morning walk which I wanted to actually do. My tummy has also been grumbling the whole day. Both detox session didn't went good for me too *cries*. Nevertheless, I'm not giving up! Yosh!!!~ Kasih Sayang Health Resort & Spa Oh, before I forgot. I told you we are having several health talks, right? This morning it was all about organic plants and fruits and identifying good foods and all the nutritional information comes in. Dr. Lynn was mentioning about how pesticides have successfully control...

health retreat, day 1 & 2

Image
Kota Kinabalu, Sabah 12 & 13 March 2012 I am right now experiencing an incredibly miraculous health retreat, mainly consisting of detoxification & rejuvenation of the body. On the first day, I got a headache attack on the plane and it just got worse every minute. I was walking like a zombie and closed my eyes every time I had the chance to do so. I felt nausea all the way, couldn't even focus to talk to people or enjoy the cold breeze and beautiful scenery of the mountains. While everyone ate their last lunch before the health retreat officially started, I was curled up on bed with my arms around my head, wondering if coming here was the right thing to do. Despite the pain, I got up, and the health retreat started. Suddenly, after 10 minutes of detox, I could feel blood flowing well into my head and all the numbness and throbbing disappeared! Subhanallah, it's totally a miracle from Allah. I've never had anything so quick and effective in eliminating the...

public speaking

Image
Do you remember your first experience standing in front doing public speaking or a presentation? I do, mine was horrible, and I decided that it will be one of the top three things i will hate for the rest of my life. I remember standing up on the small stage in front of nearly a hundred of my schoolmates and teachers with absolute nervousness. As much as I wanted to show total confidence, both of my hands trembled, one holding the microphone and the other holding a piece of paper. I am sure I saw the youngest of my classmate who stood right in front of me grinned as he saw how nervous I was. I was a school prefect back then, and it was compulsory for each of us to take turns giving tazkirah during the school assembly on Mondays. I do not remember what was I talking about, but I obviously did not deliver a good talk. And I decided, I hate speaking in public. As I grow up, small training sessions come in my way, but informally. I received my Black Belt TaeKwon-Do degree and ...

alhamdulillah, finally! Bachelor of Engineering (Honors) in Computer Information & Electronics ( 2006 - 2010 )

I AM A STUDENT, WIFE, MOTHER AND DA`IE

Image
Published in Fikrah Adni 2010 (Adni Year Book) "Our responsibilities exceed the time that we have. So spend our time wisely..." Al-Syahid Imam Hasan Al-Banna 2010 might just be another year to many people, but to me it was a year that tested everything in me – my capability, strength, patience and so much more. Juggling responsibilities of a wife, a daughter, an engineering student and a da’ie had occupied every day of life since I got married in October 2008. I attended lectures and lab sessions during the day and sat down in usrahs and Islamic lectures during the night. Weekends are occupied with programs and organizational meetings. Time between those activities are spent with family, and helping my husband with his part-time business. Alhamdulillah, on 12th April 2010, Allah has blessed me and my husband with an adorable son. Another super huge responsibility now hangs upon my shoulders – to ensure the well-being of the baby and to provide everything he needs emotio...

rejected?

that day when i couldn't get up due to migraine attack, my mom brought me to see a new doctor, a specialist in this blood thing - radiofrequency or something, i don't really remember because i was walking around like zombie during my visit there. i went there three times in july and august. during my first visit, the doctor had a general check-up on me and found that my right eye was trembling. so he scheduled me for an MRI. although i had it once when i was about 16. so i went for an MRI, which costs me my mom actually RM950! i had the results only on my third visit, and alhamdulillah there was nothing wrong in my brain. at least nothing visible to the naked eye via MRI. so the doctor diagnose my headache as migraine. to my disappointment, it seems like he doesn't have any interest in dealing with migraines. the doctor prescribed sibelium for me, but it doesn't help me much - actually, since my first visit i've never had any day free from headache. it's ei...

"teacher"

My first experience being an English teacher was just AWESOME. Initially I hesitated as my English is not very good compared to many of my friends, and I've never really taught students properly.. Yeah I've coached TaeKwon-Do since I was 13-14 but the idea of teaching English is totally different. Teaching others something you're not really good at... And teaching Thai students with differnet levels of English... umphh... but I agreed to do it, nevertheless, plus it's only for a month.. It's a good thing that I teamed up with Mubina **credits to her!** so teaching and 'organizing' the English camp was great---even though I got attacked with fever, flu & migraine throughout the camp. So as I said, it was a great experience. Love my students :D:D:D:D:D each of them have their own way of learning and expressing things. here's a picture of us taken during our trip to Genting Highlands standing from left: me - amnan - nasran - sofron - ammal - anas - nafe...

the fate of migraineurs...?

"your boss might understand you because they're your dad and brother, but not all your colleagues will feel the same way" my dad suggests that it would be best for me to work on my own, i.e. have my own company or something because if i'm stuck not being able to do anything for one day then i won't be holding anyone back with their work.. alhamdulillah, it's great that i have the choice and inshaAllah ability to decide my career path. many other migraineurs are stuck with bosses and colleagues and even family members who does not understand their pain!

just for the record :)

at 5 month ikram starts weaning, eating fruits n vegetable puree and everyone immediately commented that he put on weight!; ikram knows how to roll from his back to front a week before he turns 5 months; he learnt how to pass his rattle from his right hand to his left and back again before he turned 4 months; he could giggle when he turned exactly 3 months; he couldn't wear his newborn clothes anymore a week before he turned two months. he was too long for them already; a week before that he started smiling 'real smiles' and learns how to play with people; 4th October will be Ikram's first day of school @ hadhonah adni praying that everything will go on well, nshaAllah :)

welcome Ikram Fakhri! ^__^

last week of lectures for this sem

Image
alhamdulillah walaupun kelam kabut next week start final exam things are going on much better than expected ^__^ except for the headache that doesn't seem to fully disappear since the '53 hours....' post. and yes, i did not add to the counting because it'll just make me miserable. anyways, skrg ni tinggal kena hantar Smart Aquarium System project report n assignment decision science jumaat ni. Dr. Anisah itu saaaangat baik!!! dari 3 soalan yg panjaaang tu dia wajibkan pilih 2 je bila ada students pegi mengadu kat diat his week sgt havoc.. other than that, i HAVE to study for my final exams -__-" especially utk 3 paper yg berderet itu... so, enough of that. below is the outcome of my new toy this semester. did this with 5 other girls :) Smart Aquarium System. features: automatic feeder & water temperature display and the one below with the laundry hanger is not my toy. it belonged to Najmi and her team, but they're doing it for another lab class. the fan is ...

morning or all-day sickness? or gastric attack?

Image
8th week: started having some so-not-nice morning(actually ALL DAY!)-sickness. especially when i'm hungry, i would get dizzy & feel like vomitting. yes, only the feeling. but that is still uncomfortable.. fasting gets very challenging but i still forced myself to fast as long as i can handle it. coz i don't want to qadha' puasa banyak sangat! 9th week: once i really vommited after fajr prayers bcoz something was smelling funny terrible!. i asked my hubby what smell was it and he says it's the plant fertilizer - and you know what they are made of ! it was a good thing that we planned to go to the beach that morning ^__^ to my tiny disappointment, by tiny i meant: just a little disappointed, the Senai-Desaru highway is still not completed yet so we end up going to Tanjung Langsat which has no sand. only a small jetty and port nearby, thus making the sea water not so beautiful. but the smell of the sea is way much better than plant fertilizers! 10th week: baby is now...
